Challenge
A large part of Slovak swapping and informal auctions happens in Facebook groups. Bids get lost in hundreds of comments, the order gets mixed up and the winner is often decided by chance — "whoever writes last wins". There is no history, no exact end time and no protection against fake bids.
The goal was a platform combining classifieds, item-for-item or service-for-item swaps and full online auctions — with order, security and privacy built in from the ground up, mobile-first and search-engine optimised.

Solution
We built a modern web application in React + TypeScript on a managed cloud backend — PostgreSQL with row-level security, authentication, serverless functions and photo storage.
- One wizard for swapping, selling and auctions — photos, deep category structure and filters
- Full auctions — 1–10 day length, minimum bid, "Buy now" and auction extension on last-minute bids
- Auction logic on the server — bids are processed atomically, the browser timer is display only
- Privacy by design — anonymised bid history and masked contacts for visitors
- Realtime chat, e‑mail notifications for every action and web push notifications
- User ratings, public profiles, a collectors section with rarity and grading filters
- Installable PWA, light and dark theme, SEO with a dynamic sitemap and structured data
